Appeals demand a different set of skills from cases at the trial level. On appeal, very  little--if any--time is spent in the courtroom. Instead, most of the work goes into the written briefs. The ability to identify issues, to support them with solid research, and to present them in a convincing written argument, is critical to success. 

Sicilia Englert has extensive experience representing clients in federal and state appellate courts.  Her appellate practice includes the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, covering federal courts in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
